Question

I have an extra $40 fee showing on my SBTPG account that is not shown in my TurboTax order review. Why am I being charged an additional fee?

The $40 fee is the service charge from SBTPG for processing the federal tax refund to deduct the TurboTax account fees and then direst depositing the remaining refund into the account you specified on your tax return.

This charge was shown when you selected to pay the TurboTax account fees with your federal tax refund.

If there is an additional charge of $40 from SBTPG that is Not for the refund processing service fee then you need to contact SPTPG.

This is in addition to the refund transfer fee. Why should I have to contact SBTPG? I didn't pay for their services, I paid for TurboTax services? So now I'm supposed to track down their number, fight to talk to a human, just to be told to contact TurboTax?

This is what she is talking about your not listening …. We paid 39$ fee to have it transferred to our bank accounts already that 39$ TT should be using to pay the bank that is also charging $40 +$39= $79 to transfer our money to our accounts !!! No where on SBTPG OR TURBO TAX contract does it say one thing about a $40 1st time transfer fee when I’ve been with TT since 2016 even have a screenshot of last years fee from sbtpg

Finally someone understands!!! I did receive an email today regarding the issue and they refunded me the $39.

I'm currently viewing the additional $40 "1st Refund Transfer Fee" on my SBTPG statement even though my receipt states that there is only one $39 refund processing service fee.

Would you be able to tell me who contacted you? Did you receive support through TurboTax or through SBTPG?

I also have fees that are not on my turbo tax is only supposed to be 117 not 161.68 I’m trying to get this fixed before my account is funded

TurboTax is aware of this issue and is working to provide a solution for all impacted customers.

No action is required on your part and TurboTax is working quickly to get you reimbursed. You should be getting an email shortly letting you know when to expect the rest of your return.

I was charged extra as well and was told that it would not be refunded. I guess they choose who they completely screw over. How many people were robbed of this much money and didn't pay attention? Why should we contact the companies that turbotax chose

to be affiliated with? First and last time using turbotax.

So how you going to refund other peoples fee but when i call you tell me there is nothing you can for me and cant give me a refund. Isnt this the same thing you got in trouble before with the class action lawsuit. You need to refund my fee as well if your refund other people and i would like proff in writing

This is definitely a class action lawsuit type of an ordeal with the undisclosed extra $40 fee as well as SBTPG holding on to people’s refunds past their IRS DDD issue date. Never again will I use Turbo Tax, fk scammers.

Does that mean everyone that is being over charged will get the money that's owed to them?

I'm also being over charged and I'm trying to find out what I need to do to get it fixed

It is possibly a glitch in the Turbo Tax program. I recieved the same message and called Customer Service only to find out the error was on their end. I was finally resolved.

I don't advise any taxpayer to ever use turbotax again. They false advertise and holds refunds for interest. To prevent stress and delay please guys stay away from turbotax. When I try to contact SBTPG to try to speak with representative they hang up and don't take any calls. Will be reporting to BBB. They also charge extra fees.

Yea when I did my taxes on TT it said $117 will be taken out. I go on sbtpg website it’s saying they going to take $164 like wtf that’s not what I agreed too!

We’re in the process of reimbursing all who were affected. Within the next 24-48 hours, those affected will receive a credit for $36.25 or $37.25. If you were affected, look for a deposit (in the bank account associated with your return) labeled, “Remaining Federal Refund Due". If you don't see that deposit in a few business days, please contact our phone customer service.

I have the same fee!! I thought going through TT to have my fees taking out of refund would be easier, but this has been a nightmare! I didn't get an advance or use a prepaid card, but I NEVER have any issues when I pay my fees upfront. Will not EVER do this again or recommend TT to anyone in the future. This company has way too many issues.
