Is it necessary to get the data/code for Box 13 on the W-2G ----also Box 18 likewise does not have any data

No, you do not have to get any specific codes. You can use the Payer's federal identification number for the box 13 state number (do not use dashes). You an enter the name of the city where the winning occurred for box 18 to move through the review.
