I have a 19 year old disabled son who lives with me. Does he qualify for Earned Income Credit and how do I go about getting him to qualify when I file my taxes?

Since your son is 19, for him to count as a qualifying child for purposes of your earned income credit claim, he must either be a student or permanently and totally disabled.  The IRS requires:
1. He or she cannot engage in any substantial gainful activity because of a physical or mental condition.

2. A doctor determines the condition has lasted or can be expected to last continuously for at least a year or can lead to death.

If this describes your son, please make sure and check the disabled box when entering information about him in TurboTax.
