Question

I filed my tax return before the extension deadline however it was rejected. Now turbotax has shut down the online service but I have paid. What shall I do next?

Now you have to print, sign and mail your 2018 tax return,  You cannot e-file.  The fee is the same whether you e-file it or mail it

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS and/or your state received the return.

I have a similar problem.  I filed in early September with Deluxe version.  The confirmation notice said that what I paid included electronic filing.  IRS has not seen my return,  Who do I talk to about this?

You may have e-filed--but did the IRS accept your return?  Or was it rejected?  If it was rejected, the IRS did not get it.

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?

https://www.irs.gov/refunds           Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”

Note: If it says “Ready to Mail” or “Printed” that means YOU have to mail it yourself.  TurboTax does not mail your tax return for you.
