The Form 1040-X for amending a 2023 tax return will be available in TurboTax on 02/14/2024

If the return is accepted you will have to amend your original tax return. An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-change-correct-return-already-filed/L4VjJ9BA2_US_en_US?uid=ld1n99kr

As your tax return has been accepted, you need to file an amended return to add the 2 forms 1099.

If you are expecting a refund, we recommend that you wait to amend until after the IRS has processed your original return and you have received your refund.

To amend your tax return, please read the instructions in this TurboTax FAQ.

Please note that the amendment form 1040X will only be available on TurboTax after 2/14/24.

PS - the Form 1040-X is appaarently available on Turbo Tax, but it is in "do not file" mode, so it is not ready for filing (or adjusting the amount I owe yet, which won't be that much).  I hope after Feb. 14th, it will give me those amounts so I can be over and done with with my returns for this year.

@Lunna So you will know this going forward----it is not at all uncommon for the financial institutions to put the information on their websites a few weeks ahead of having that information formatted and ready to be imported into tax software.   So if you want to import it,  you should wait.  It can take until mid-February for some of them to have the information ready for import.

I hear you - I find it annoying that certain banks wait until after February 1 to provide us with 1099s.  I got mine the other day and it was different from what was online so I have to file a 1040-X to amend the interest earned (all of 109 dollars) thanks to the bank's dragging it's feet.  I'm sure someone will say I shouldn't have filed so soon, but I wanted it out of the way, basta (and I wasn't entitled to any refund, to boot).   So much for diligence.
