Question

I filed an extension on taxes, then received the correct W2 before the deadline. Turbotax deducted my filing an then deducted the estimate for the extension. How do I fix

So I received an incorrect W2, and filed an extension since I didn't know it was going to make it. Turbotax asked me to set up an estimated payment for the date.

I then received a W2 corrected and filed before that deadline, thinking Turbotax would clear out the extension (since I filed).

Nope! So I paid the taxes I filed and then on the 15th paid another chunk of federal 'estimated' taxes.

Long story short, I overpaid taxes by about a thousand dollars.

I kind of need that money back. What are my next steps?

The IRS will automatically adjust your return to include all of your estimated payments.  So you will receive a refund for the ~ $1,000 you overpaid.
