I fail to inform Turbotax I desire to file taxes for 2017. I am not filling for 2019 at this time. Can you instruct me, how to switch from year 2019 to year 2017

To complete and file a 2017 tax return using TurboTax you would need to purchase, download and install on a personal computer one of the 2017 desktop editions from this website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

A 2017 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.

STOP! Online is only for 2019. You didn't file it yet, did you?

To do a prior year return you have to buy the Desktop program here, https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/2017 You will need a full Windows or Mac to install it on.

Don’t forget your state. And you will have to print and mail your returns. So be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them. You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places. Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.

And FYI -

Online is only good for 2019 now. If you tried to use the Online version for a prior year you should try to clear it out so it's not accidentally filed as a 2019 return or transfers into next year.
