I changed jobs very early last year. When I entered my second W-2 it suddenly went from a sizeable return to owing taxes. When I clicked on the "why" it says it's because I made $52,000 MORE than I did the previous year. That's not true. My increase in income was only around $10,000. Did I miss clicking somewhere to identify this as a job change and not a second job and sudden increase in income?

The reason your taxes increased when you entered the second W-2 is because there was not enough tax withheld to offset the increase from the additional income. The taxes owed almost always go up when a second W-2 is entered because all of the deductions were applied to the first W-2 and there were no more deductions available to offset the income on the second W-2. The amount would be the same if all the income was on one W-2.

Each employer withheld tax as if it was your only job.  But, alas, overall, you did not have enough tax withheld to pay enough tax.    But double check all of the amounts you entered from both of your W-2's. Make sure everything is correct.  If you took a snapshot or imported the W-2's---do not "trust" the import without checking it very very carefully.
