I can't delete the adoption carryover wksht which is preventing me from filing! I have tried deleting the form, chatting online with tax advisors, help!

The children's adoptions were finalized in 2014, yes we have a credit, but should not come into play this year!

Is there a Form 8839 in your tax return that can be deleted and/or an adoption worksheet?

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen

Click on Tools

Click on Delete a form

I've deleted the adoption wksht, in the process you described, a hundred times and it never goes away. Talked to countless online TurboTax help to no avail. Why is this such an issue THIS year? Why wasn't this adoption 8839 wksht an obstacle last year...or the year before...

Do not know. But it may be because the IRS Form 8839 for tax year 2021 has not been finalized and will not be available in TurboTax until 03/03/2022. This is only a guess but could be the reason that the program will not allow the 2020 forms to be deleted until the 2021 forms become available.
