I am trying to purchase and download TurboTax 2024 to my desktop in case the price goes up later. Is that not possible?

It was so easy last year. Now when I log in, it comes up with "hi, let's keep working on your taxes!" I don't want to work on my taxes. I want to pay for a download the software and have it look like it did last year.

You can purchase the desktop download from Intuit or any of a variety of retailers. The fee that will increase for desktop is the fee for e-filing a state return. If you e-file a state return before March 1 it will cost $20; after March 1 it will cost $25. Or you can print and mail the state return and pay for a stamp.

The fees for ONLINE TurboTax increase after March 1--is that what is confusing you? The current fees for using online are the "discounted" fees; after March 1 they increase.
