I am married and filing jointly with my husband. I am a stay-at-home mom but have done some independent contractor work equaling $7000. Do I need to file my income?

Yes, you will need to include your income from your independent contractor work on your joint Tax Return.  You will include the income as well as the expenses on Schedule C.
