I am doing taxes for a freind and the first time it rejected saying the AGI was wrong? I used the correct w2's

If you are referring to the 2017 AGI, that is not the number you want from W-2.  If your friend did not file a 2017 tax return, the AGI would be zero.  If they filed with TurboTax or have an original copy of the 2017 tax return, see here  2017 AGI . If not, the best and fast way to access the 2017 AGI is to order a transcript from the IRS.  Click here  Get Transcript  and select "Get Transcript Online "   On the transcript, look under section "Adjustment to Income" and find the amount for Adjusted Gross Income.
