Question

I am a fulltime student, paid all household expenses. My son is 17. Is that why I am not designated head of household?

I have a dependent, but don't qualify as Head of Household. Why? I paid for more than 50% of household expenses.

There is a question in MY INFO that asks if the dependent paid over half their own support.  It is not asking if you paid.   When it asks if he paid over half---say NO to that.

No, your son's age of 17 would not eliminate you from filing as Head of Household.

As xmasbaby0 suggests in the answer above, please revisit the "Personal Info" section interview and check your answers regarding support.

Also make sure you select "No, no one else can claim me"

Here is a link about the requirements to file Head of Household.
