If you are e-filing there is no physical signature. You "sign" electronically by entering your 2020 AGI. If you choose to file by mail then of course you need to use a pen and sign on page 2 next to the words "Sign here."

As you get to final review you will be guided to enter a 5 digit random pin number of your choosing and enter your name in a box. This will act as your electronic signature. Once you complete that and choose how you would like your refund or how you would like to pay your taxes due and/ or the fees for TurboTax, you will hit the Transmit My Return now button. You will then get confirmation that your return was successfully transmitted.

After the successful transmission, you will receive a message that your return was either accepted or rejected, generally within 24 hours.
