How do I add my pin to my tax return because the irs just sent it to me in the mail.

    To enter, edit or delete a 6 digit IP PIN

    Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
    Click on Other Tax Situations
    Scroll down to Other Return Info
    On Identity Protection PIN, click the start button

    Whether they send it to you or you thru id.me, they give you a 6-digit number and the TurboTax app only allows a 5 digit number. Why not just update the app to allow for 6 digits?

    The 5 digit e-file PIN is self-selected by the taxpayer and is entered in the program at the when they are in the File section.

    The 6-digit Identity Protection PIN is sent to the taxpayer by the IRS and must be entered exactly as received.  It can be entered into the program at any time

    To enter, edit or delete a 6 digit IP PIN
