Question

How can I write a review? I have had a horrible experience trying to speak with someone.

No, I don't have a "live" account. I am having a problem with my 2018 taxes which I haven't filed. I have a couple of what should be simple questions but I can't find anyone to speak to. I will be done with Turbo Tax after this!

I just completed a horrible experience with TurboTax. When I finally chose the full service, I explained to the representative named Neil Singh that I needed to file my individual federal taxes, my partnership taxes to the federal government and my partnership taxes to North Carolina as a partial resident. He filed the North Carolina part and my federal taxes, but not my federal partnership taxes which have to be filed by March 15 or face a penalty by the IRS. He stopped communication with me when he told me that that would need to be done by the partnership team. I asked him if he was going to send my package over to them and he never responded. That was Sunday. On Monday I called and I got someone and asked to speak to a manager and was told someone would be in touch with me within 48 hours. On Wednesday after the 48 hours we’re gone. I reached out again and asked to speak to a manager and I was told that someone would call me that evening. Today is Friday. I haven’t heard anything from anyone at Turbo tax. What upsets me is that I paid the money and I didn’t get what I paid for. I plan to put derogatory comments on every forum of social media that I can because I don’t feel TurboTax really cares. They also have no way you can give them a rating so I don’t know where all those reviews came from. I think they’re fake. I think they’re all AI generated. I will tell everyone I know not to go near TurboTax because they’re not an upstanding company. I’ll plan to get with my state attorney general to see what I can do about this.

I also had a bad experience. One of the questions in EasyStep was asking for the wrong data. I know because I researched the issue using IRS forms and publications. As a courtesy to Intuit, I contacted customer support to tell them the question was wrong, and they could have other customers filing claims for not getting the refund they deserve. Since I did not need them to resolve a question with my return (because I had figured it out myself with the IRS forms), the representative was not interested in the issue. They said I could file a suggestion online, but when pressed they could not find a way to do that. I wanted to write a negative review, and I can read reviews, but could not find any way to write one. This company does not seem to care about the quality of its product.

There isnt anywhere to write a revie. Im replying to yours by hitting the reply button. Ive usedtbm for the last 3 years without incident & now theyre trying to say that I owed $79 to file fed but was quoted $39. Supposedly the software said if you want it to be taken from your return there was a$40 processing fee. Ive never had to pay untilnow. I cannot seem to get anyone to lusten. Satisfaction guaranteed my behind. They also took $40 more than expected because there was nothing stating that, they are refusing my $40 refund. Never again will I yse them. Probably start a suit. Im sure im not the only o e they are misleading and screwing over

Every Year we go through the same thing regarding e-filing taxes with Turbo Tax. I just tried to call only to be disconnected.

I am not a 100% sure. I will buy this program next year, I may have husband look at others.

The answer is you can't, so I have to assume all user reviews are fake as there is no method to for a user to write a review so obviously those reviews aren't real and thus fraudulent and misleading. If any Turbo Tax rep wants to argue I am incorrect, you either post a link I can click on to write a review, or else you prove me right. Since if user really did write the reviews, you'd be able to post a link or instructions I can use to write such a review.

What a joke.... I too was wanting to share my extreme horrible experience with others but can't find where to write a review yet every page it shows all these great reviews. What a lie and a joke. I've been doing my taxes here for 8 years and this will be my last. Very disappointing.

I experienced a technical glitch on Turbo Tax this year and tried to figure it out for two weeks. I finally called an agent and she was amazing. I would like to write a review but did not get to the leave a review section.

Iv. Ive used turbo tax the last 3 years without incident. Well, this year I had to pay $39 fed and $39 state but they took $79. I called them and one rep said to file for a refund and when that got denied they said there was a $40 processinf fee. At no time before I filed did i come across a $40 processing fee. They are refusing to refund any of my money & its not right. Never had issues before but now especially after that lawsuit. Seems they make it up as they go or are not up front about whats free and whats not before you file and not in extreme fine print. They owe me a minimum of $40 & I dont k ow what else todo. Youd think that tveyd be more willing to reimburse the 40 rather than another lawsuit which is beginning to lool better all the time.

I won’t ever use turbo again after using them for many years , 2024 tax I only received $100 when my refund was $1804. I was never told I owed anyone or any company but still got charged $168 to file my taxes and receive only $120. I promise this company will be losing a lot of customers. They never offer discounts and lie saying the filing is free. This is the worst tax company to file your taxes stay away.

There can be a number of reasons why your refund was less than the amount you expected. First of all, look carefully at your actual tax returns. Next——check the IRS refund site https://www.irs.gov/refunds to see what the IRS says they issued for your refund. Sometimes the IRS reduces your refund. If the IRS reduced your refund they will send you a letter in several weeks.

There is sometimes confusion about the amount of refund to expect when users misinterpret the “summary” they saw in TurboTax. The amount of your refund is on your tax return. Federal refund is on line 35a on Form 1040 State tax forms are all different so we cannot tell you what line to look at on your state form. BUT it is important to actually LOOK at your tax return forms yourself and see the amounts of your tax refunds and/or tax due. A lot of confusion would be avoided by doing that.

Be aware also that your Federal refund and state refund do NOT come together. Federal and state tax returns are processed by two completely separate entities. There is no rule as to which one will come first,

It is also possible that your state reduced your refund for debts owed in your state—if the state reduced your state refund you will receive a letter from the state.

Did you choose to have TT fees deducted from your Federal refund? (Remember that if you did that, you also agreed to an extra refund processing fee of $40 or $45 in CA)

I am with you on this I have been trying to get help with filing out the 8379 form.custer service say upgrade or they won't help me.i won't be using them. Next year.i have never had this much trouble.

Turbo Tax is the worst tax package ever! It used to be much more intuitive and easier to navigate. 2024 is horrible. Prime complaint is Turbo tax does not save original forms if you amend the return. That is ridiculous. It is not easy to go back to review a particular area without going through multiple screens. I will never use it again nor will I recommend it to anyone else. They went off a cliff with this version.

@user17594367417 You are supposed to save your original return as a pdf BEFORE you amend so that you will still be able to access it. If you do not save it as a pdf before you amend, then the amended return replaces the original and the original is lost.

Same! I absolutely HATE TurboTax. It gets worse with every year and I dread filing taxes. They and the rest are disgusting example as to why bribing, I’m sorry, “lobbying” our politicians should be illegal. The only reason this ridiculous company exists is because they bribe politicians to keep them relevant. Every other developed country simply sends tax returns to their citizens. On top of all of it, by the time I’m done filing, I owe pretty much all of it to this stupid company. I generally have to pay, with nothing in return, just for the privilege of filing taxes. This company and the rest need to stop existing.
