state Oregon. Followed instructions for filing state return after federal accepted. It looks like TT is trying to refile the Federal return, which of course, does give a dup SSN error. Ideas?

A duplicate SSN error when e-filing an Oregon state return after a federal acceptance usually means TurboTax is mistakenly trying to re-transmit your federal return. To fix this, you must ensure only the State return is checked for filing.

Go to the File section of your TurboTax program. Uncheck the Federal return and Check only the Oregon State return. File your state tax return only.

Thank you, I believe you are absolutely correct.

TLDR for others getting this error: most likely, as in my case, TT filed state and failed to give you an appropriate confirmation, showing you this error instead.  Wait a day and see if you receive email/text from TT that your state tax form was accepted. If it has not after 3 days, you should definitely contact support. Also, some states, like my own do have online resources where you can check to see if they have received your form as another way to check.

More context for any interested: I did follow to the letter the TurboTax Support instructions in TurboTax FAQ How do I e-file my state after I already filed my federal? I paid the additional fee for state only and proceeded to filing, but TT still, as you suggest, went ahead and attempted either to refile my federal, or more likely, to do some form of validation of my SSN against the federal database and tripped over the duplication error.
