Help, if I want my refund to be directly deposited in my account I now have to pay for premium services, is this correct?

No, direct deposit is free.
When you elect to pay your TurboTax fees from your refund, called Refund Processing Service, there is a fee.
MAX Premium Services can be removed from your account as long as you haven't already paid for your account. Please see the following TurboTax FAQ. https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/4842224
