Filling out form 8453 for 1099b

My 8949 has an entry that it has an attachment. I cannot find any attachment in the tax file. I cannot fill out the Form 8453 to send in the additional documents received from the broker to support the entries on the form 8949. How do I do this?

The attachment is the statement from your broker. It's not something that TurboTax creates. TurboTax will create Form 8453 when you go through the filing section and select that you want to e-file your tax return. If you file by mail instead of e-filing you do not need Form 8453. You just attach a copy of the brokerage statement to your mail-filed tax return.

THIS IS A GOOD ANSWER. I COULD NOT GET THE 8453 TO LOAD PERSONAL DATA. SO I PRINTED ONE FROM IRS.
