My daughter turned 18 in October, but is still a full time high school student with no job or income. Why is she not being included as a qualifying child for the Earned Income Credit? There is no place in Turbo Tax that asks if she is a full time student.

Your daughter can be claimed as your qualifying child until she turns 19, or until she turns 24 if she is a full-time student. The software did not need to ask if an 18 year old was a student.

You can get EIC for her if you otherwise qualify for EIC. But you cannot get the child tax credit. You do not get the CTC for a child over 16 now.

Look at your 2022 Form 1040 to see the child-related credits you received

That is exactly what I thought, but when using Turbo Tax Deluxe, it is not adding her as a qualifying dependent. It is only adding my 16 yr old son, but not my daughter. How do I get that changed in Turbo Tax?

Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number. Careful— do not say that your child’s SSN is not valid for employment. If your child was born in 2022 make sure you said he lived with you the whole year. There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support. Say NO to that question.
