I need to e-file my 2023 tax return so that I can get a transcript as soon as possible. I already have the tax return that was prepared by another CPA. Can I use 2023 Turbo tax to simply e-file it? I just need the federal for now I am going to mail the state as I do not need a transcript of that. thank you!

No.   E-filing is closed permanently for 2023 returns.   The only way to file it now is by mail.    And....TT cannot ever "just" e-file a return prepared elsewhere for you.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.

Did you ask the CPA?  There may be some places that can efile a prior year.

Yes I did ask him and he said he cannot do it becasue "it has not opened yet for E-File" and he said I should just drop it to IRS office and they will mail it which I did but it will take 6-8 weeks and I need a transcript by end of this month.

I took it to 2 other CPA and they said they need to re do it themselves to file which I cannot do because I have already submitted my info for a Visa case based on the one that was already made by my original CPA.

    Thank you!

Oh if you already filed it or turned it into the IRS you can't file it again.  Sorry you will have to wait.  All you can do until the transcript shows up is give them a signed copy of your return.   Did you get a receipt from the IRS?

Turbotax has closed e-filing for 2023. Professionals and some online websites may still allow e-filing 2023
