During the "complete check" process before filing, Turbo keeps asking me to correct the same details despite it is already corrected.

It is the home office square footage limited to 300. The 300 is already in the form. But it keeps saying I need to review that same detail! It is in Form 8829. Simplified Method Smart Worksheet. Line C, "The lessor of the square footage of your office or 300". The value entered is 300. When I continue, it will say I still have details to review. And it would be the same details.

Hi, I went back and redid the sections several times. It was very time consuming to repeat all the steps. I tried making the square footage 300. That didn't work. The same error came up. I then changed the area to 299. That still didn't fix the problem. Finally, I deleted the home offices and re-add them as new offices. That still didn't work.

I have already paid for it and want to e-file. But each time, it will ask me to check those things that are obviously correct. In the "Check This Entry", I see the 299 in the form on Line C that says "The lesser of the square footage of your office or 300 " The entry box "Limit Square Footage" is also already auto-filled with 299. Is this a bug in the software? It is taking a lot of my time. Thank you for your help. The message is below:

I am having the same issue. I fill in the box and go back to the error check and it tells me there is no value in that box. This must be a bug but how can I get past it?

Thank you. One problem in general seems to be that when shifting from Form view back to Easy Step, at least on destkop Mac, it doesn't take me to the right place in the questionnaire to input the information. I did finally find a worksheet where I could put in the details leading to the figure in the box under Code Z Section 199a, which solved the problem. But the error message ought to be more specifi (a suggestion for your developers) so that instead of saying there is no entry, it could direct the user to the worksheet.

I’m having the exact same issue, a year later. This is clearly a bug in the system. At this point I’m just trying to get access to the numbers I put all this work into entering here and re-enter them on another platform, but I can’t even seem to view them.

FIX: Form 8829 Line C or Limited Square Footage -- if you have multiple home businesses, it's saying that between both forms of self employment, both have to use the simplified method AND the total square footage cannot exceed 300 between the two. So if you have 272 listed for one self employment, the other self employment can only have 28 square feet listed as the office space.
