DONATIONS TO CHARITY

I am filing singly and have taken the standard deduction. I recall having read that it still may be possible to deduct a small amount of donations to authorized charities . Please indicate if this is possible and the "rules" for doing it. It is also my impression (from previous years) that  donations which total under $100, can be deducted without need for documentation. Is this true?

cash donations up to $300 are deductible even if you take the standard deduction.  Goods or services do not count.

best to have documentation.....I am not aware of a $100 or less free pass on documentation.
