Question

Does NEW YORK state require people fill in their property tax amount in their tax return?

Hello,

I reviewed my NEW YORK state tax return again and again and find  there is no place for me to put in how much property tax I paid for my house in the tax year. Turbotax only ask me how much I get from star credit. I use turbotax premier online version. Is that normal?

I remember when I lived in IL, that state requires me fill in how much property tax I paid for my house when I fill tax return.

Thanks

New York had a property tax credit similar to Illinois, but it expired for tax year 2024, so it is no longer asked in TurboTax.  See Real property tax relief credit.

OK, I no need to worry that I missed that part on turbotax.

Thanks
