My mom passed away Jan 16th this year. Am I able to submit her income taxes to receive her tax refund for 2020?

Was she married at the time?

No, she was a widower. My dad passed 10 years ago.

Yes, you can file for your mother. You will file the return in your mother's name and in the personal information section of the return, you will state you are filing for your deceased mother.

When you file in this matter, a form 1310 is generated into your return. Once the return is complete, you will need to mail your return along with the 1310 because the 1310 cannot be efiled. Please read the instruction in this Turbo Tax link posted by super agent PaulaM for more details.
