Question

Daughter did taxes and accidently listed herself as not being able to be claimed by us as parents. She is a dependent and when we did taxes they were rejected. I don't see the amend feature yet. From my research I believe this should be coming soo

Yes, amendment will be available soon.

You will need to file a paper return because there is no way to get around the e-file system once your dependent has already filed and claimed themselves.  Paper file your return with your dependent included.

This article will give instruction on how to print and mail your return.

Your dependent will need to amend their return to indicate someone else is claiming them.

See this TurboTax FAQ for help with amending.

Okay makes sense.  So her taxes were accepted although she has not received federal or state refund yet.  She used Turbo Tax Free Edition and we used Turbo Tax Deluxe.  She will have to amend and we will have to mail returns.  Will Amend feature be available on her free edition?  Do you know when? and should we wait to mail our taxes after she receives the federal and state deposit?

Thanks

She will amend her return using the same version that she used to file it.

The amend feature should be available in the next week.  Keep checking back.

Yes, wait to submit an amended return until after the original has been fully processed.

Thanks-just for clarification The Free Edition allows electronic Amend (1040x) feature correct? And I will look for it in about a week.

Thank You
