Charitable Contributions Summary detailed page uses incorrect names for Non-Cash Donations

The Charitable Contributions Summary detail page uses the wrong names associated with the dollar amounts for non-cash donations.   The total amounts appear to be correct, but the names are jumbled.  The first two non-cash items show an organization name that was not used this year.  It is the name of an organization I used last year for 2019, but deleted the forms since they did not apply to 2020.  These names have somehow persisted and been reused.  Unfortunately, this is on the forms submitted to the IRS, so I will have to amend my return.

This is not something that would require an amended return if the total dollar amount is correct and all the charities involved were 501(c)(3) qualified organizations.

Keep the correct donations list for your records.

Thank you for the answer, but it ruins my confidence in the accuracy of TurboTax, especially in the detailed worksheets, which I have trusted in the past.  On further checking, there are lots of name-amount mismatches from what I entered.  Its almost like the list of names was slipped 3 or 4 lines from the list of amounts.

I am glad to hear you say I do not need to file an amendment, but the 100% accurate guarantee from TurboTax is really unreliable in my mind....  I just hope I am not audited.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I have reported it for further investigation.

If you were audited, which is unlikely, this type of misstatement from your records would not cause a problem because the dollar total is accurate. And because the dollar total is correct, the IRS would have no reason to penalize you.
