To claim someone as a dependent on a tax return they must have a Social Security number or an ITIN issued by the IRS and the child must have born on or before 12/31/2019 to be entered on a 2019 tax return.

Did you not apply for a SS number in the hospital when she was born?  You do know that the filing date for a federal tax return is now July 15, 2020.  And if you are receiving a federal tax refund you have up to three years from the original due date of the tax return to file for a refund without any penalties.

contact SS and get that number before filing!!!! you now have until July 15 to do that!  if you file without the SSN you will lose the deduction and you can't go back and correct it later.
