Future husband has college loan debt. His tax refunds are taken until he pays them off. When we marry & do our taxes, can I just file married-filing separate to avoid having mind taken as well?

Yes if you file Married-separate you are not liable for your spouse's past debts that are offset by the tax return and you do not have ti file the Injured Spouse.
