Can I do my 2018 taxes using the 2017 tax software?

Can I use Turbo Tax 2017 to prepare my 2018 taxes. When I went on line and started my tax preparation it automatically started me filling out my 2018 taxes using my 2017 Turbo Tax software. It took me step by step through beginning pages. The problem is, I don't want to fill all of this information on the forms it is giving me and find out that it's not exceptable for my 2018 filing. Very Confusing!

No. Every year that tax laws change and the forms are different. For 2018 ALL the 1040 forms have been revised by the IRS and there are many tax law changes.

2018 tax can ONLY be done using the 2018 software.

If you want to use TurboTax for 2018 , you must have the 2018 software.
