Can I claim my mom as dependent? SHe does not live with me. She is in dementia facility I supplement financially 800-1200/mo.

You are paying for *some*  of your mother's support---how are the rest of the nursing home expenses being paid?  Does your mother have any income?

Possibly if her total gross income not counting social security is less than $4,200 and the costs of the facility are paid by you and not insurance or the state.

 

Support is paying more than half of all costs which includes medical and housing.
