Can I claim my affordable health care advanced payment I repaid on last years tax return as a medical deduction?

Unfortunately, you cannot include on the tax return for this year, but you can amend the prior year return to include the repayment as a medical expense deduction. This is because the payment for the actual insurance was last year, the repayment of the credit is to the government not the insurance company.
