Question

Can I bypass the federal filing, so I can e-file my state taxes? My federal taxes need a correction that I cannot make yet and NY state won't let me mail taxes in.

I printed my state taxes to mail, but NY states they require e-filing. How can I bypass efiling federal again, so I can send my state? I can't refile federal because the hold up is in the id check. My 2024 taxes aren't through the system yet, so they can check my identity.

If the federal tax return is not e-filed, the state tax return cannot be e-filed using TurboTax.

New York state will accept a mailed tax return if the software being used will not electronically file the state tax return.
