Any idea why the 2019 tax return I download from TurboTax today doesn't match the PDF I saved when I did my taxes in 2020? What could possibly change it?

No. The online version saves everything you do. The only thing you can do is download the .tax2019 data file and open it in the 2019 Desktop program. Then you can see the actual entries and try to take out what you changed. And you better check what transferred over to 2020 it might affect it.

If you want to do that call support and ask for 2019 program if you don't have it.

Only if you made any changes to it after you saved the pdf in 2020. Like if you went back in to test something or prepare estimates or finish filing state. Or if you are in the wrong account. It's common to have more than 1 account.

@VolvoGirlThanks, and I think you're on to something since the change is in an area I could have fiddled with to see the difference, e.g. through a fake amended return. Is there any way to see the bona fide, real version that was submitted to the IRS? Every "Download return" link I've tried gives this alternate version, which is a bit unnerving if TT thinks that's the real thing.
