Already efiled but thought we filed an extension...

We knew we would receive K-1s in October 2022, so we filed for an extension and paid our taxes back in March. Now we're realizing we may have accidentally already efiled (federal and state) via TurboTax, and it won't let us file again. What should we do? We owe additional taxes.

    See https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/amend-return/how-to-correct-federal-tax-returns/L67t0F7il

If you already filed a return which was accepted, you will need to file an amended return at this point.

"Now we're realizing we may have accidentally already efiled (federal and state) via TurboTax, "

Did you e-file?  Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Does it say in your account that a 2022 return was accepted?   If so, then you are going to need to amend to include the additional documents that you received recently.
