2021 Tax Return IRS only used 1 of 2 W2 I provided.

So as the title says when I filed my 2021 tax return, I was due a decent amount, provided 2 W2 for that year and for whatever reason that return was in limbo for forever , eventually ended up owing the IRS money but after paying for it on my 2024 Return I noticed in my wages that they only considered 3,000 odd some amount from a job I worked for a few months and nothing else the entire year. So I paid the amount I owed according to them which was around 2K and for that year I never received anything even though I worked and had two dependents. I was supposed to receive around 11K. I just wanted help and others inputs and experiences. I want to know if Id be able to actually go back and claim what I can. Im due at least something.

Please clarify your question.

So as the title says when I filed my 2021 tax return, I was due a decent amount,

  • When did you file the 2021 tax return?

provided 2 W2 for that year and for whatever reason that return was in limbo for forever ,

  • Did you post the two W-2s to your tax return?

eventually ended up owing the IRS money but after paying for it on my 2024 Return

  • Are you saying you paid 2021 taxes with a 2024 tax return?

I noticed in my wages that they only considered 3,000 odd some amount from a job I worked for a few months and nothing else the entire year.

  • Is this 2021 or 2024.
  • Did you include all of your income?

So I paid the amount I owed according to them which was around 2K and for that year

  • Was this 2024?
  • Did you pay $2,000?

I never received anything even though I worked and had two dependents.

  • Do you mean you didn't get W-2s?
  • Did you include the dependent?

I was supposed to receive around 11K.

  • How do you know you should have received $11,000

I just wanted help and others inputs and experiences. I want to know if Id be able to actually go back and claim what I can. Im due at least something.

  • You should have someone sort all of this out?
  • You can use TurboTax LIVE, but it will be an extra charge
  • You can use an outside preparer and have them look at it.
  • This can not be sorted out without looking at the return and asking you direct questions.

2021 is out of scope for TurboTax Live help.  You need to contact a local tax preparer or a tax advocate.
