Question

2021 return rejected by IRS. "spouse' AGI is incorrect. We file jointly. I re-entered our AGI and return was again rejected. How do I fix this so I can file?

To file 2021?  AGI doesn't matter now.  You have to print and mail prior year returns.   When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received the return. Don’t forget state.

Oh and when you file 2022 use 0 for the AGI since you are filing 2021 late.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
