Received message from Turbo Tax that new tax forms are ready, just open turbotax on my computer, install the updates when prompted and your forms will be automatically installed. So I clicked on the check for updates and the program goes through something (I supposed it was updating) but it does not update anything and I tried it 5 times with no change so this TurboTax is not doing what it is supposed to do and I want to know WHY.

On 3/19 they updated the Online version for the unemployment 10,200 exclusion. Desktop was updated on March 26. Try updating your program. How to update

If updating doesn't help then delete the 1099G and re enter it.
The exclusion will be on Schedule 1 Line 8 as a negative number. Your unemployment compensation will be on Line 7 of Schedule 1. The result flows to Form 1040 Line 8.
When I ask for e-file transmission, the program says I need a software update from turbotax - or I should make a copy of my tax form and sent it by mail. I want to file by e-mail. What do I do?
Then doesn't it stop and save your return and do the update? Are you on Windows or Mac?

If your program says it's up to date or you can't update it then do the Manual Update. This has also fixed the State forms not available problem for some users.
