And not that the guarantee will only pay penalties and interest charges - not any tax that you would have paid anyway without the error.   And, it only covers TurboTax *calculation* errors - not user data input errors or failure to report all income in the correct place.

TurboTax Calculation for NJ TAX=$50 refund. I got invoice from NJ for $251.03. Could youpleae help me understand why.  According to turboax my credit from tax (from NY taxes)=30560 but this invoice states tht credit only $30,308.97.

since it appears you are only getting billed for additional taxes due to some error in calculating the NY credit TT will pay none of it.  if you get billed for penalties and interest TT will only pay those if it's their computation error and NOT some mistake you made.

I am not trying to get TT to pay my taxes. I am trying to understand if NJ is correct and TT is not correct and I m actually have to pay this amount.

I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE IRS/STATE

 

 

TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS or your state after your return was filed, so no one at TurboTax knows about a letter you received from the IRS or the state.

TurboTax has a special phone number for help with IRS/state tax letters, which will be easier than going through regular Customer Support.   At the page below, click on the blue button that says "Get Help from TurboTax Support".  Then it will ask you what tax year is your letter.  Then it will ask you what the letter concerns. Then it will show you the phone number during posted business hours.
