I received a "Substitute Form 1099-G" from my home state of Michigan. Refund listed is $1,659.00, for tax year 2014. Do I report this on my 2015 return?

Retirement tax questions
Only if you itemized in 2014 and took a deduction for state tax paid. Then the refund that was previously deducted must be included as income. If you did not itemize and took the standard deduction in 2014, then it is not necessary to enter the refund.
