I'm 70 in April and only have SS and a govt annuity as a widow. No other income. Do I have to file fed and state tax returns?

Retirement tax questions
It depends on how much your government annuity and social security are when combined together. If you are filing as a single person and the total is less than $25,000, you do not need to file a tax return.
