My husband recieved retirement distribution 30,000. from texas paid pd 5,600. federal taxes . live in virginia now. Does he have to pay Virginia State tax on this money?
money was earned inTexas ( no have no state tax) paid out in 2018 in Virginia. Virginia state tax ?

Retirement tax questions
Yes, if he received it while living in VA then yes he needs to pay Virginia State Taxes on it. There is a subtraction available for taxes paid on the contributions to another state, but since you lived in Texas he would not have paid state taxes on it.
