Why doesn't adjusted gross income reflect Social Security income?

I entered SS as income, it is not appearing on my completed tax form.

You should see your Social Security income on Form 1040A line 14a or Form 1040 line 20a. Only a portion of your Social Security is taxable. The taxable amount is on 1040a line 14b or 1040 line 20b. Only the taxable amount is included in Adjusted Gross Income. If your other income is low enough, none of your Social Security is taxable. In that case, line 14b or 20b will be blank or zero, and none of your Social Security will be included in your Adjusted Gross Income.
