I'm working on 2016. I need to manually input 1099 but turbotax won't let me put anything in tax forms. What do I do?

If you can't download 1099 and have to input data manually, how do you get data onto tax forms?

You cannot import a 1099 from 2016. There are about two dozen kinds of 1099's. What kind do you need to enter?

Do not enter directly on the Form 1040. Rather, go through the interview: Federal > Wages and Income.
