Retirement tax questions
My wife died with an outstanding loan on her work 401-k. The loan was in her name only. I rolled over the work account to another 401-k account in my name. I was told the loan was treated as a default because it was not paid off before she died. Received a 1099-R for the outstanding loan amount. How do I report this?
