Retirement tax questions
You made contributions to two types of 401(k) plans: The traditional plan and a Roth 401(k) plan. While there are many similarities between 401(k)s and IRAs, they are not the same thing. Do not report either of your 401(k) contributions reported in Box 12 as IRA contributions.
