It depends on what details are entered in the state interview. There is a toggle button between owners and renters that may have inadvertently been selected. The way to access this in TurboTax Online is to go back through the interview to get to the Taxes and Credit section.
You may need to delete and re-add the state to re-set this.
To delete and re-add the state:
- From the left menu select State>
- Continue>next to your state, click the Trash Can icon and follow through the rest of the questions ending with Done
- Click Add Another State>Your state>and go through the interview again.
For TurboTax CD/Download, go to Forms Mode and adjust Form M1PR directly by scrolling down to Form M1PR and opening it for review.
