I received a 1099-MISC form that reported the scholarship amount I received from AmeriCorps in 2017. This amount was already reported on my 2017 1098-T form. Next steps?

Taxes were already filed when the 1099-MISC was received. The 2017 1098-T included all scholarships and grants I received. If I was to report this amount twice, I would end up having to pay more taxes than I should. Please help.

If the AmeriCorps is included on your 1098-T, you do not have to enter the 1099-MISC but keep a copy of it (and the 1098-T) with your tax records.

You are welcome!  I am not sure why they both send the form

So I have a 1098T for my wife's graduate school last year with a $2400 scholarship but I ALSO have a 1099-MISC from AmeriCorps. Do I enter BOTH?!?! Everywhere I read says yes and somehow put 1099MISC in Line 21, but contradicts itself in the fact that some posts also say only use the 1098T. The 1099-MISC and Box 5 of 1098T are the same amount ($2400). THIS above post contradicts others on this site about entering both?!?!
