Where do I find the place to enter a 1099-g for a self-employed business?

What type of 1099-G?  State income tax refund? Unemployment comp? State disability?

It is a taxable grant.

Easy ... when you are in the Sch C section of the program is asks for income reported on a 1099-misc and then all the other income NOT reported on a 1099-misc ... just enter it there under the general income section.  You can make a separate entry there if you want for your own records or just add it with any other income you have and make one entry.... your choice as the IRS doesn't care.

This helped me find the right part of the program. However, the general income sections says that it is for income NOT appearing on a 1099-misc or 1099-g. So, I am still not sure that this is the right place for it.

What is this grant for ?   Schooling or self employment ?

If it is for your Sch C just enter it on the General income line or the other income line ... it really doesn't matter.

Where would I note the withholding then? The general income line does not appear to have a place to note the federal witholding.

I am still trying to figure out why you want this on the Sch C at all ... if you enter 1099-g in the search box you can jump directly to where you can enter that form & withholding.

If you insist that it needs to go on the Sch C then the withholding  is entered here ...

1. Federal Taxes

2. Deductions & Credits

3. Scroll down to Estimates and Other taxes paid

4. Select Other Income Taxes, select Withholding not already entered on a W2 or 1099 (or whatever other option applies to you)
