Can I deduct excessive car repairs due to work mileage

Possibly, if you are eligible to deduct unreimbursed job-related vehicle expenses, then you would have to option or either the standard ($.575/mile) deduction or the actual expenses deduction. The actual expense deduction allows you to deduct the business use percentage say (50%--if you use it for work 1/2 the time) of all vehicle related costs (insurance, repairs, gas, etc).
